Autumn

After learning about our native trees the girls in fourth class explored the park to see what trees were there. They also went on a scavenger hunt looking for leaves, seeds and nuts and they used what they found to make some lovely art.
Hot Air Balloons

There was great excitement in Mercy P today as the students were treated to a fabulous demonstration from Carol and her crew, showing us how they operate their hot air balloons. Birr is hosting this years Irish Hot Air Ballooning Championships… keep an eye out for Carol or Gary in his Sky Baby balloon!
Athletics

The girls practised balancing, running, jumping and throwing during their athletics with Declan. It was a very enjoyable PE lesson. Looking forward to next week already!
Tennis

Tennis lessons with Dermot have started. The children enjoyed their first session.
Fourth Class 2022-2023

Maths Trail

Fourth Class enjoyed taking part in a Maths Trail on Friday, consolidating all they had learned about Length in Maths this week.
Futsal Soccer

Fourth class are enjoying learning futsal soccer skills with coach Gary.
Science Week in Fourth

The children enjoyed a virtual Trip to the Reptile Zoo where they learned interesting facts about turtles, tortoises, lizards, snakes and tarantulas, to name but a few. Happy Halloween 

Halloween preparations are well underway in Mercy Primary. Pumpkin carving, spooky artwork, Halloween games and ghoulish dancing to name but a few activities enjoyed by the girls. Happy Halloween from all in Fourth Class
Space Week

Space Week was celebrated in Fourth Class this week. They had a Zoom with Dr. Niamh Shaw and were fascinated to learn about space, space exploration and what life is like on the international space station.
