Well done to 2 of our 6th class girls who played at half-time in the Offaly/Kerry match last Sunday in O’Connor Park. Great to see them representing Offaly.   

Birr Active Travel Launch

On Wednesday 18th May some of our Green School Committee attended the launch of the Birr Active Travel plan. The girls enjoyed themselves.         

National Walk to School Day

A great crowd gathered this morning to celebrate National Walk to School Day on Wednesday 18th May. We walked to school together from Emmett Square.     We were delighted with the turn-out, despite the rain!

Origami in Second Class

Local artist and author George Dempsey Flanagan visited our school on Friday. First he read his new book entitled ‘Swimsy the Goldfish’ to the girls in Second Class. Tennis in Second Class

Second Class have just completed five weeks of tennis with coach Kieran Galvin. During these lessons the girls learned  and practised the basic skills and shots used in tennis ie. the forehand, backhand, serve and volley.
