Fifth class Tour to Dublin

On Wednesday the 13th June we set off at nine o’clock on an adventure to Dublin. For some of us it was only our second time to visit our capital city. Driving into Dublin we saw lots of famous sights including The Four Courts, the Ha’penny Bridge, The Spire, Trinity College and much more.

Our first stop was to the Dáil where we met our local TD Marcella Corcoran Kennedy. We got a fantasitc tour around Leinster House and Marcella had treats for us at the end.

Our second stop was to the Jeannie Johnston Famine ship which was docked along the banks of the river Liffey. It was very interesting to learn about the people that set sail on the ship across the Atlantic during the famine.

Our last stop was to the Phoenix Park. We saw Dublin Zoo, Áras an Uachtarán and we stopped at the Papal cross for a picnic!

We left for home at 4 o’clock. some of us were tired and some were still bursting with energy! We arrived back to the school again at 6 o’clock. We had a fantastic day!
