Aistear in Junior and Senior Infants

The Doctor’s Surgery

We had great fun in Aistear this September.

Our theme was ‘The Doctor ‘s Surgery’. We learned how to make an appointment by phoning the receptionist, how to describe how we were feeling, the role the nurse and doctor play, what a prescription is and the importance of the pharmacy.

We also learned about the optician, we got our eyes checked and some of us were prescribed glasses! 👓

The girls loved playing in ‘The Baby Clinic’. They held the babies carefully, recorded their height and weight and listened to their little lungs and hearts using their stethoscope. 🍼👩‍⚕️

1st Class joined the busy surgery on our final day and the girls took super care of them! They were also able to take care of an emergency as teddy arrived on a stretcher after a bad fall!
