Re-opening of Schools

Mercy Primary School
Dear Parents & Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you and your families safe and well. As you are no doubt aware, the government has issued comprehensive guidelines on the reopening of schools in September. I want to take this opportunity to assure you that preparations are ongoing to ensure that Mercy Primary School will open on Friday 28th August.
The staff are very much looking forward to welcoming our girls back. I am sure that the girls are looking forward to meeting up with their friends and teachers again. Many will feel excited, relieved and happy while some may feel a little anxious and worried about getting back. This is to be expected and is a normal response at a time of transition and change.
Over the coming weeks, we will be busy making sure that the school buildings and yards are safe for all students, teachers and parents. New routines and rules will be put in place to ensure this safety. I will be in touch with you again closer to our reopening date with a comprehensive explanation of these new routines and rules. I am certain our school community will work together to make sure that things go smoothly and to ensure our school is a safe environment for our girls to return to.
The staff and I want to thank you for the support you gave to the girls and the work that was done while we were closed. Be assured that we will work very hard to get the girls back to where they should be over the next few months. Our first goal will be to ensure that your daughter settles back well into school life, reconnects with her friends and is happy and content.
Thanking you for your continued support and co-operation.
Kind regards,
Barbara Hanamy.
