News from Fourth Class

Fourth class have been extremely busy this half term. Here’s an update on some of the things they’ve been up to…
The girls learned all about Autumn in SESE and the changes that happen in nature. We visited the park and learned about the different trees and how to identify them by looking at their leaves and seeds. We planted our little oak tree in the school garden too. The girls took part in a nature scavenger hunt in the local park and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Maths week took place this month and the girls had great fun playing various Maths games with the class and online. They loved DRop Everything And Move (DREAM) or as the girls liked to call it Drop Everything And Dance (DEAD) where they danced at a particular time every hour! We incorporated Maths into Art and even PE creating shapes and lines and angles. And to end the week the girls took part in a Maths Trail around the school yard.

Zoom calls have become popular in our class. We had a zoom in Science with Niamh Shaw and she told us all about ESA and what it’s like for astronauts in space. We also had a story time zoom with our librarian Joe and he read three great and gruesome Halloween themed stories to the class.
