Children’s Book Festival
First David Walliams and now Judi Curtin!!
As part of the Children’s Book Festival, organised by Birr Library, the girls in Fourth Class met Irish author Judi Curtin over Zoom today.
She told the class all about her family, her schooldays, her love of reading and writing, her interest in history and the authors she read when she was younger. The girls heard about the people and places that inspired her to write stories and in particular her latest book ‘Lily’s Dream’ which is part of her series of books inspired by Lissadell House and Countess Markievicz.
The girls had the opportunity to interview Judi and she finished the Zoom by reading an extract from her new book.
It was a wonderful experience.
