October Activities in First Class
On Thurs October 10th First class went to Camcor Park to mark National Tree Day. The girls observed a variety of deciduous trees which they can identify from the leaves and fruit growing on them. As an art activity the girls did some bark rubbings. To follow up on their tree trail the girls have their own tree booklets and are learning about tree parts and their functions.
On Friday 11th first class were given a very informative talk and slide show on responsible care of pets from Liz who is the education officer with Offaly SPCA.The girls showed huge interest and enthusiasm during the presentation and each girl received a certificate.
