Friendship Week in Second Class

Second Class celebrated Friendship week recently. They did so many activities on the theme of Friendship.

Each child had a ‘secret friend’ for the week. They tried to be really nice and kind to their friends.

The girls did many Art activities – posters, pictures, Qualities of a good friend…

They also entered an Anti-Bullying Art Competition. They drew fabulous pictures. Well done to the prize winners Katie, Laura and Aoibhinn.

In English, we read stories and poems about Friendship. We even wrote our own Acrostic poems!

In SPHE and PE we did many co-operative games using the parachute, balls and hulahoops. We learned to help each other and work together.

The girls also enjoyed the game ‘What My Friends Think Of Me’. Each child wrote something nice about their friends on paper and all of these lovely comments were put in a card. Every girl got a Friendship Card filled with kind words. It made them feel very special.

On Friday, we had our School Mass where Second Class sang the song ‘Circle of Friends’. It was beautiful.

The girls really enjoyed Friendship week but it’s not over, as they hope to continue it for the year!
