Science Week in Third Class!
What a fantastic week we had last week for Science Week in third class and in Mercy Primary School.
The girls were very busy researching, exploring and experimenting and had great fun in the process!
We choose five different experiments and worked in groups explaining those experiments!
We collected the materials we needed for the experiments and made posters for our stations for the Science Fare which was held on Friday!
The five experiments we choose were:
- Musical Sounds – We showed how different vibrations using elastic bands are similar to the musical notes on a guitar!
- Don’t Sink the Boat – Investigate the energy of static electricity.
- Double Balloon Static – Investigate how to make static electricity and show electricity attracting and repelling.
- Musical Sounds – We showed how different vibrations using plastic bottles are similar to the musical notes on a piano!
- Diving Drops and Sinking Feelings – Investigate which liquids are heavier / lighter than others!
