World Book Day

On March 5th Second Class celebrated World Book Day. Each child came to school dressed as their favourite book character. Mary Poppins was their teacher for the day!

The children took part in lots of fun activities throughout the day.

First the girls in 5th class read Fairytales to the class. The girls loved listening to the older girls reading. Next ‘Minnie Mouse’ read a great book called ‘Mad Grandad’s Robot Garden’. Second class enjoyed this book very much. After our Guest Reader, the children did lots of Art activities about the story. They also entered a story-writing competition. Each child then received a present of their very own book to keep and to take home. They were so excited with their new book as Daisy Meadows is one of their favourite authors.

World Book Day was a brilliant day. Everyone enjoyed it. Reading is so much fun.
