Fourth and Fifth class went to Athlone recently for their school tour. First they took a trip on the Viking Boat and travelled along the Shannon from Hodson Bay to Athlone. They saw many beautiful sights along the way, including swans and cygnets, ducks and ducklings, islands and bridges.

Next they visited Athlone Castle. They learned about the history of the castle and explored the old artefacts inside. The girls got to dress up during the guided tour and they also tried out the stocks! The teachers got locked in the stocks too but thankfully the girls released them!!

After lunch the classes went to JumpLanes where they jumped, tumbled, cartwheeled and played.

It was a fantastic tour and everyone enjoyed the day very much.
