Lovely Lullymore
Second Class went to Lullymore Heritage and Discovery Park for their school tour.
First we explored the forest. Here we took a step back in time as we visited an old thatched Famine cottage and a soup kitchen.
Next, we found a very unusual school called a Hedge School. Some girls even liked it!!!
Then we saw a Crannog. We crept inside and we met Fiachra the Stone Age Man. He told us stories of what it was like living in the Stone Age.
As we went deeper into the forest we noticed the ground was getting softer. We were standing on a bog !!! We had great fun jumping up and down on the spongy ground.
Next we entered the Fairy Village. We had to be very, very quiet. Some girls were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a few fairies. Ms. de Chaumont saw the Teacher fairy with yellow wings!! In the village was a beautiful Fairy Tree. We all made a wish at the tree.
When we left the forest there was a train waiting for us. We boarded the train and took off on a magical journey around the fabulous grounds of Lullymore.
After the train ride we visited the Pet Farm. We saw donkeys, alpacas, geese, goats, bunnies and pot bellied pigs. We even saw the smallest horses in the world!
After lunch we had lots of time to play in the outdoor play area and the Funky Forest. Some girls even played crazy golf.
It was a fantastic school tour. Everyone enjoyed it very much.
