Friendship Week in Second Class

Second Class celebrated Friendship week recently. They did so many activities on the theme of Friendship.

Each child had a ‘secret friend’ for the week. They tried to be really nice and kind to their friends.

The girls did many Art activities – They drew pictures of their friends and they described the qualities of a good friend. They decorated their pictures with these special qualities.

In English, we read stories and poems about Friendship.

We even wrote our own Acrostic poems!

In SPHE we did Circle-Time activities and in PE we did many co-operative games using the parachute and hulahoops. We learned to help each other and work together.

We learned a lovely song called ‘Circle of Friends’ in Music Class.

The girls also enjoyed the game ‘What My Friends Think Of Me’. Each child wrote something nice about their friends on paper and all of these lovely comments were put in a card. Every girl got a Friendship Card filled with kind words. It made them feel very special.

The girls really enjoyed Friendship week but it’s not over, as they hope to continue it for the year!
